The Power of Information Review launches

I'm delighted to announce that the review I've been working on with Ed Mayo and the Cabinet Office has launched today. You can get the official PDF version here or my friend Sam Smith's  annotatable version that he just threw together.

I'm immensely grateful to Fran, Steve, both James and Amalie who threw their work life balance out the window to get this done in so little time.

I'm really looking forward to what people have to say about it, and to seeing the government response which should be out in a few weeks.

Look forward to reading it.

Great report, Tom. Only digested parts so-far but you have sparked my imagination.

I'll confess to getting my first speeding ticket at the weekend...and where did I look for advice? Not the DFT or the police safety partnership site but a googled forum built by citizens with similar issues in which police officers had intermixed their comments.

It didn't get me off my fine but it did make me aware of other issues such as the scale of safety camera revenues.

The best news is that a top brass traffic cop at Humberside Police got caught drink driving the day after. Go my post about double standards!

Congrats Tom - wow this is so perfect for my law 2.0 conference!! plis plis get back to me when you have a second between being Important and Busy :-)

Good stuff, promptly referenced in a paper I am writing. Will post that back as it's ready.

Guess what! The PDF link has already gone down for the document, the Power of Information. It took only five months. Is this a record?

Frequently the reason behind the desire to write this type of paper remains unclear. However, once the events are recounted and recorded, it becomes clear that the writer is striving to find the universal truth.Coursework
